Abstract

Cancer death is the most common cause of death in Japan and the number of people who died of stomach cancer in 2015 is the second highest among patients who died of all cancers. This video proposes about you should do removal of Helicobacter pylori among you are young to prevent stomach cancer. Helicobacter pylori has a important link to stomach cancer. H-pyloriproduces toxins and enzymes that damage the gastric mucosa. As a result, the gastric mucosa continues to be damaged and the stomach develop to chronic gastritis and develop atrophic gastritis which leading to gastric cancer. Removal of Helicobacter pylori by taking medicine effectively prevents stomach cancer. There are four points you need to consider about removing Helicobacter pylori. First is the rate of success of removal of Helicobacter pylori. This is high; 97%. Second is cost. This is about 10,000 yen for examination and 20,000 yen for treatment. Third is side effect. Due to side effects, about 20% of people suffer from loose stools and diarrhea, and about 10% of them developed taste disorder. These symptoms are considered temporary, but they should not be ignored. Fourth is even if sterilization is successful, it will not prevent gastric cancer. However, when H. pylori is removed, the incidence of gastric cancer has been reduced to 43% compared with the cases without it. This is a pretty high number.
